In celebration of American Black History, the Temecula Valley Museum and Temecula Theater present an evening of thought-provoking and entertaining music focused on the vocal and artistic expression of music at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater (42051 Main St.) on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 7:30 pm.
Our celebration will be hosted by Grammy-nominated, classically-trained, multi-faceted Performer, Yve Evans, and Grammy award-winning producer, arranger, and lecturer at the University Of California, San Diego Department of Music, Kamau Kenyatta. This one-night-only concert is packed with feel-good music that will engage and inspire our community.
This performance will feature the San Diego-based Voices of Our City Choir, consisting of unsheltered neighbors reconnecting with hope and possibility through the healing power of music. Professional musicians, staff, and volunteers provide a safe space each week for music-making – this is our ‘outreach’ without it feeling like outreach. They offer space and opportunity to the unsheltered community for connectivity through the healing power of group singing, songwriting, and guitar workshops. This unique choir will inspire and uplift spirits while igniting hope in your heart.
The night gets better as you enjoy recording artist, Eddie Baltrip and Fulfillment. When you hear their voices, it is instantly joyful, positive, celebratory, and soulful. Cuban Jazz violin virtuoso, Dayren Santamaria, takes us on a musical, spiritual journey. Her passion for music is evident through a captivating performance. Up-and-coming gospel artist, Frankie Taylor, bridges the gap to the next generation to keep the world encouraged!
The goal of the Celebration of American Black History program is to celebrate history and culture through entertainment and education. Please support the Temecula Valley Museum, Old Town Temecula Community Theater, and Temecula’s Community Services Department as we continue to grow this engaging, entertaining, and educational annual program.
