2019 charlie Brown

Calling all middle and high school aged students interested in performing and producing a musical! The City of Temecula & Temecula Presents is pleased to offer a Student-Led Internship program that allows students to gain experience in the theater industry. With the support of the California Arts Council’s Youth Arts Action Grant, this unique arts education program provides youth (ages 13-18) access to three months of mentorship from professional artists and expert advisors. This free program encourages relevant, dynamic and innovative community building and learning through youth-focused arts and culture projects.

Participants will attend classes providing them with valuable theater experience and at the end of the course, there will be four public performances held at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater on the main stage! Students are able to sign up for auditions for a role in the cast or to interview for a position with the production team. This program is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in gaining experience in acting, directing, choreography, musical directing, and other backstage roles.

The selection for this program, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic, based on the beloved comic strip by Charles Schultz. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and Snoopy in this charming revue of vignettes and songs.

Interviews to be on the production team are scheduled for October 16th and auditions are scheduled for October 25th. Classes begin on October 30th. This course will be held at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. For more details on times and locations, please visit or call the Community Services Department at 951-694-6480.
