Mortgage and Rental Assistant Program (MRAP)

The City of Temecula Mortgage and Rental Assistance Program (MRAP) pre-qualification is now open.  The pre-qualification will help determine eligibility for the City's emergency rental and mortgage assistance program for income-eligible households impacted during COVID-19 pandemic (due to job loss, furlough, and/or reduction in hours/pay).  All applicants must reside in the City of Temecula.  A map of the City is available here.

MRAP grants are rental and or mortgage payments made on behalf of income-eligible households to pay for past, current, or future rent or mortgage for a maximum period of three (3) consecutive months (or $7,500 as a maximum amount) as a result of the economic downturn during the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance will not be paid directly to households. Financial assistance will be paid directly to the bona fide mortgage company, landlord/property management agent.

 If you meet the pre-application guidelines, you will be notified with a link to the full application where you will be entered in a lottery where 65 Rental Applications and 35 Mortgage Applications will be reviewed for approval based of program guidelines.  

The pre-qualification period for this program has closed. Applicants will be contacted in the coming weeks with additional information.

Do I need to submit multiple applications per address?

No. Only one application is needed per address. Duplicates will be removed.

Next Steps

Once the pre-qualification window has closed, eligible applications will be sent a full application for completion. All eligible full applications will be placed in a lottery and selected to proceed through the next steps of the process.
